What training and support will I get

We will ensure your training makes you fully prepared for your role as a Samaritans volunteer. You will attend a series of preparation sessions within a group and learn about what's involved.

"The help I received was brilliant. On my first shift I picked up the phone and the woman on the other end sounded exactly like my trainer had," said John, a volunteer who joined earlier this year.

You will learn and then work within a group of people who will act as back-up for you.

Whether it is helping others by phone, text, email or face-to-face you will have great support from other volunteers.
